Not everything worth writing begins as an essay or ends as one. Sometimes it starts with a question, a conversation, an observation, or something that refuses to leave you alone. I confess to being plagued with all the above.
That's what FIELD DISPATCHES is for. Call it mental masturbation if you will, or just take it as a way for me to place ideas, philosophy, and random thoughts into the ether for the consumption of others. Perhaps it will lead others to question their own assumptions and find a few answers on a variety of topics.
This is where I'll put thoughts from the road, from everyday life, and from whatever catches my attention long enough to demand a few words. Some dispatches will be rough around the edges. Some will be more personal in nature. Some may be funny. Others may be uncomfortable. None comes with a promise to please everyone or anyone.
A few will grow into fuller essays for PROSAIC PROSE. Plenty won't. That's the point: the dispatch comes first, and the writing earns whatever comes next.
Read, disagree, think about it, or move along. Just don't mistake a willingness to ask questions for a lack of conviction. I have some very resolute ideas about the Universe at large.
